# How do I set up banked hours?

Choose a banked-hours mode and save its settings in My company.

## On the web

1. ### Open banked hours

   In **My company**, open **Banked hours**. The current configuration appears.

2. ### Choose a mode

   In **Mode**, choose **Payroll payment**, **Compensatory time off** or **Hour balance · Flexible schedule**. The fields change to match the mode.

3. ### Configure and save

   For payroll or time off, set **Application tolerance**, **Hour rounding** and **Valuation and tiers**, plus the visible limits. Save tier edits in their panel. For flexible balance, set the balance limits and daily margin. Select **Save changes** to save the configuration. A success message confirms the saved banked-hours configuration.

## If you don’t see it

- You need a company administrator role and the banked-hours extension.
- A person needs an assigned work schedule for hours to accumulate.

## Common questions

### Does changing modes reset the balance?

The interface warns that the confirmed balance is preserved but the available balance may change. Review pending balances before switching.

### Does every mode show the same options?

No. Time off also has a request format. Flexible balance has its own balance and margin settings.

## Result

A success message confirms the saved banked-hours configuration.
